I make my living writing: newsletters, YouTube scripts, courses. And these days, Claude Code is my collaborator on nearly all of it.
But I never liked creating in a code editor. Cursor and VS Code are built for shipping software. Prose deserves better than a clunky preview pane in a dev tool.
So I built the writing experience I actually wanted: calm and paper‑like where I write, a real terminal right below it where my agent assists, and everything quietly checkpointed and synced to GitHub the way I'm used to.

Absolutely. Flywrite is a complete markdown writing app on its own — the terminal is there whenever you want a collaborator, and out of the way when you don't.
No. Checkpoints, version history, and GitHub backup are automatic or a single button — you never type a git command (unless you want to).
The files you work with in Flywrite are simply files that live on your Mac — you can see and open them right in Finder. There's no special "vault" or obfuscated database, and you can back everything up to your own GitHub repos.
Flywrite is a Mac app. But your work is just ordinary files on your Mac (optionally backed up to GitHub), so it's never trapped in one app or on one machine.
Each license lets you use Flywrite on up to 3 devices.
