β€œI write a LOT of markdown but clunky IDE previews just made me miserable. Flywrite does everything I want: keyboard friendly, customizable, git backed. Perfect!”

Using Claude Code for things other than code?

If you write with your agent, you shouldn't have to do it in a coding app. Flywrite brings the same workflow to an app made for writing.

A beautiful markdown writing experience

Write in a clean rendered view, where your markdown reads like the finished piece. Or flip to classic source mode when you want to see the raw markdown. One keystroke switches between them.

A real terminal, not a chat box

Run the actual Claude Code, Codex, or any CLI agent, with your subscription, your skills, and your memory. It sees what you've selected and edits your files directly, while you keep hand‑editing right alongside it.

Every change, checkpointed

Flywrite checkpoints your work before an agent touches anything. See exactly what changed, restore any earlier version. Hand the keys to an agent without holding your breath.

Make it yours

Light mode or dark mode. Full control over fonts, color themes, and the app layout. Tune the whole studio to the way you like to write.

Backup to GitHub. Simplify Git.

You never have to write a git command. It's automatic or a push of a button.

Fly through it from the keyboard

Every function in Flywrite has a keyboard shortcut, and every shortcut is customizable. A command palette puts it all one keystroke away.

Hi, I'm Brian.

I make my living writing: newsletters, YouTube scripts, courses. And these days, Claude Code is my collaborator on nearly all of it.

But I never liked creating in a code editor. Cursor and VS Code are built for shipping software. Prose deserves better than a clunky preview pane in a dev tool.

So I built the writing experience I actually wanted: calm and paper‑like where I write, a real terminal right below it where my agent assists, and everything quietly checkpointed and synced to GitHub the way I'm used to.

I hope you love writing in Flywrite as much as I do.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an AI subscription?

Only if you want to use AI in your writing projects β€” Flywrite is a complete writing app without it. When you do want an agent, you bring your own: Claude Code, Codex, or any CLI agent, on whatever subscription or pay-as-you-go tokens you already use. You never pay Flywrite for AI.

What does my purchase include?

The full Flywrite app for Mac β€” every feature, nothing gated β€” plus all updates and new features while your license is active.

Can I use Flywrite without an agent?

Absolutely. Flywrite is a complete markdown writing app on its own β€” the terminal is there whenever you want a collaborator, and out of the way when you don't.

Do I need to know git or the command line?

No. Checkpoints, version history, and GitHub backup are automatic or a single button β€” you never type a git command (unless you want to).

Where does my writing live?

The files you work with in Flywrite are simply files that live on your Mac β€” you can see and open them right in Finder. There's no special "vault" or obfuscated database, and you can back everything up to your own GitHub repos.

Does it run on Windows, or on my phone?

Flywrite is a Mac app. But your work is just ordinary files on your Mac (optionally backed up to GitHub), so it's never trapped in one app or on one machine.

How many devices can I use it on?

Each license lets you use Flywrite on up to 3 devices.
